Overview

I'm an astrophysicist and lecturer in the Department of Physics at Aberystwyth University.

One of the most interesting outstanding questions in astrophysics to me regards the formation of massive stars, tens of times larger in mass than our Sun. In my work, I analyse observations obtained with radio interferometers (like the JVLA and ALMA for example) to study regions of massive star formation to very high resolution. I'm interested in a wide range of processes, from the large scale condensation of the diffuse interstellar medium into dense filaments and cores, right down to the accretion of material onto protostars themselves from the circumstellar discs that surround them.
